2014: Fake antimalaria medicines in Liberia, Cameroon and Ghana

The information exchange system of the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a drug alert on three antimalarial products intentionally falsified. These counterfeit products have been discovered in Cameroon, Ghana and Liberia. None of the medicines were manufactured by the companies named on the labels. In Liberia and Cameroon, partners from the Minilab network detected these fakes having fatal consequences for malaria patients.
