2016: Falsified hepatitis C medicines in Myanmar
Fake oral antivirals used to treat infections with the hepatitis C virus HCV, Ledso and Dakavir capsules, claiming to contain sofosbuvir, ledipasvir or daclatasvir and pretending to be produced by PHARCO Corporation (Egypt), have been identified by a local NGO in Myanmar. The World Health Organization issued an appropriate medical product alert. PHARCO stated that they do not manufacture any products under these brand names. Picture: fake Dakavir.
